High Diamond Jewelry with Classic Italian Style
High Jewelry has captured a great deal of attention in recent weeks, as many of us seek to refine our choices, opting for “fewer better things.” The difference between fine jewelry and high jewelry is all about exclusivity. Fine jewelry is often produced to be recreated or repeated. High jewelry, on the other hand, employs superior artistry and exclusivity, often bespoke or one-of-a-kind or created as limited editions, representing the “haute couture” of the jewelry world. At PICCHIOTTI, requests for natural diamond jewelry have been on the rise, and though the brand is known worldwide for superlative gemstones, the design team has created a sparkling array of high diamond jewelry debuting this spring. Here we will explore the motivations and design inspirations that blossomed into this exquisite assortment of diamond jewelry with PICCHIOTTI’s iconic and classic Italian style.
“My passion for color and truly impeccable gemstones has fueled my entire career,” says designer and founder Giuseppe Picchiotti. “But the unique brilliance of natural diamonds has always been and continues to be an equally important source of inspiration for both me and my design team. Requests have come from all across the globe in recent months for the iconic PICCHIOTTI style that we bring to rubies, emeralds, and sapphires, but focusing more on the elevated elegance of diamonds. We have had great fun challenging the norms of diamond high jewelry and creating some truly fresh and fun jewels that we hope will be cherished for many years to come.”
Fluid Diamonds – Hard Stones in Motion

Diamonds are one of the hardest natural materials on the planet, and the hardest of all precious gemstones. According to the Natural Diamond Council (NDC), “billions of years ago, deep within the Earth’s mantle, carbon transformed under immense heat and pressure into nature’s most extraordinary creation – a natural diamond. These geological marvels, formed long before life existed, embody Earth’s ancient history and unparalleled authenticity. Volcanic eruptions carried these treasures closer to the surface” where they could later be discovered by mankind. The enduring value of diamonds stems partly from this incredible hardness because the stones can withstand daily wear and still maintain their distinctive and beloved sparkle. But the designers at PICCHIOTTI love the femininity of diamond jewelry, and Giuseppe and his team have enjoyed the challenge of evoking fluidity and motion into high diamond jewelry.
The Diamond Waterfall necklace and earrings are a splendid example. Designed to mimic the mesmerizing flow of water and bubbles in a natural cascade, the Diamond Waterfall features three multi-strand chains of round white diamonds that appear to flow around the neck like water would flow around a bolder as it gently glides over a cliff. The strands gather, as the waterfall would, and the diamonds tumble into a beautiful convergence that forms the focal point of the necklace. The strands then continue their sparkling current, flowing into five strands or round diamonds alternating with marquise-shaped bezels that culminate in a pleasing harmony. Similarly, the chandelier style earring features a voluptuous rounded oval on the lobe, almost heart-shaped, framing a single round diamond in a marquise-shaped bezel with clever use of negative space to make the diamond look like it is floating. Three strands of undulating diamonds dangle beautifully beneath. The authentic Italian craftmanship allows the individual strands of both necklace and earrings to move easily, further echoing the sense of fluidity and motion.
Combining the hard and soft aesthetic is also an integral theme of the PICCHIOTTI Fiocco (bow) collection. Bows are created in diamonds and precious metals that seem to furl like real ribbons. The new Diamond Embrace suite (necklace, earrings, ring) evokes the sensual movement of ribbon in the hardest of materials – diamonds. The ribbon-like double strand sinews of diamonds wrap around the neck in a figural “embrace” or hug as they come together and appear to be held fast with string or ribbon that loops around like a corset, tying the necklace together. The pieces are big and bold, a statement necklace like no other, paired with graduated earrings and a feminine ring that elegantly embraces the finger while also capturing the light.
Another shape that conjures fluid-like motion is the teardrop. PICCHIOTTI’s new Elongated Drop features a beautifully sophisticated teardrop shape in a Y necklace that fills the decolletage and a pair of long earrings that create a subtle sense of motion as they dangle from the lobe. The lengthy teardrop shape is completely covered in pavé diamonds set in 18K white gold, and they are suspended from yellow gold rondels with round white diamonds in a two-tone design that feels fresh and innovative while preserving a heightened sophistication. The asymmetrical shape of the necklace also adds to the modernity of the overall aesthetic. The “stirrup” shape and gathering “bit” evoke equestrian motifs which are also perfect for the Year of the Fire Horse in Lunar Calendar for 2026.
The Return of the Parure – Classic High Jewelry Suites with Modern Twists

The parure, a matching suite of high jewelry designed to be worn together, was a staple of wealthy connoisseurs in previous centuries. The idea of matchy-matchy jewelry fell out of favor for a while, but more recently, many high jewelry brands are showcasing matching suites of demi parures (necklace and matching earrings), while some are showcasing entire parures (with bracelets, rings, and/or brooches). According to Rachael Burrow Rummel, style editor of Veranda magazine, “we are seeing a solid comeback of these demi-parure sets, from several high jewelry maisons” (Veranda).
PICCHIOTTI recently introduced the Flowers parure, including two necklaces (a large bib and a graduating multistrand) with matching button and drop earrings and ring. The response was so powerful and strong that PICCHIOTTI is now offering similar suites in two-tone metal (18K yellow and white gold necklace, earring, ring), as well as a pink sapphire version (see more on that below). The cut-out floral motif is feminine with a contemporary use of negative space within the design. The inner petals appear to float within the floral shape, giving a three-dimensional look to each pieces. PICCHIOTTI has long looked to nature as a primary design inspiration, sculpting exquisite florals for their Flora collection. This new Flowers design, however, is less traditional, appealing to a wider variety of consumer tastes.
The new Marquise Eclipse demi-parure by PICCHIOTTI features a matching necklace and earrings that showcase the geometric appeal of the marquise shape. Marquise diamonds have been making headlines of late, ever since Selena Gomez recently got engaged to famed music producer Benny Blanco with a stunning marquise diamond ring. The double strand diamond chain meets in the middle, right along the clavicle with a linear drop that features a pendant-like element composed of refined concentric marquise shapes. The matching earrings have the same motif dangling from short pavé diamond stilettos. These pieces are designed to be worn together for a harmonious and symmetrical aesthetic, but the real value of such timeless design is that both the necklace and earrings can also be worn solo and with a wide variety of outfits and hairstyles. These are pieces that will never be out of style.
Universal Appeal – High Diamond Jewelry for All

Diamonds have always had universal appeal and eternal relevance. According Sam Broekema, Editor in Chief at the Natural Diamond Council (NDC), “The rarity, durability, and cultural significance of diamonds transcend generations. The value of a diamond comes from its rarity as a finite gem. Natural diamonds are more than just beautiful stones – they are heirlooms in the making. Natural diamonds continue to be the standard-bearer for those seeking a lasting, meaningful piece of jewelry.”
PICCHIOTTI purposely embodies a classic design language when creating diamond jewelry. Heritage meets innovation as the design team attempts to heighten and maintain that eternal relevance of natural diamonds. Harmony and precision are balanced in the diamond studded Bombé necklace and matching earrings. There is also a Masterpieces diamond bracelet that wears nicely with the necklace and earrings or stands on its own. The seemingly infinite field of sparkle that covers the surface of these designs is both understated and alluring. The brilliance captures the eye, giving confidence to the wearer, but the exceptional matching of the diamonds creates a highly sophisticated aesthetic.
Also new for this year, The Hexagon capsule collection features an exquisite diamond ring that inspired an entire collection. The center 2.03 carat hexagonal cut diamond is framed by PICCHIOTTI’s baguettes, and the baguette diamond shank is crafted with the brand’s best-selling Xpandable technology, allowing the ring to fit for life, gently expanding and contracting for luxurious comfort and ease. The complementary necklace echoes the look, wrapping the neck in geometry and sparkle. A series of hexagonal cut diamonds form a linear choker culminating in a larger hexagon at center framed with baguette diamonds. The clean simplicity of the repetitive shapes is further enhanced by the alternating single and double hexagon cut diamonds. The streamlined sophistication exudes joy and refinement. It perfectly adorns the little black dress, adds a bit of scintillation to a basic turtleneck, or sends a message of confidence when worn with a power suit.
Hint of Color – The PICCHIOTTI Diamond Caress

The color mastery at PICCHIOTTI continues to thrive, as it has for almost sixty years. High jewelry suites that include extraordinary gemstones have always been part of the brand’s DNA. The new PICCHIOTTI Sapphire Eternity suite features a substantial 11-carat teardrop cushion sapphire that is gently caressed by round and marquise diamonds. The halo is a flattering design that elevates the beauty of the important sapphire. The pendant drops from a dramatic Y necklace, placing the distinctive beauty of the stone front and center. Equally enchanting are the matching earrings. Round and baguette diamonds form a distinctive linear drop that leads the eye to enchanting oval sapphires, each framed in the splendor of diamonds. The necklace and earrings complement each other without being identical and are intended to be worn together.
The PICCHIOTTI Flower series is not only available in white diamonds and two-tone varieties. The delicate allure of pink sapphires adds the perfect hint of color, creating an altogether different appeal. The matching necklace, ring, and earrings offer a colorful and expressive way to wear the look. The marquise pink sapphires are set in 18K yellow gold, while the diamonds forming the outer flower rim are in 18K white gold. The two-tone suite is charming, a subtle nod to female empowerment. Wear it for the “feel good factor” or to add a sense of sophistication to your favorite pink ensembles.
In each of these new demi parures and suites the enduring allure of traditional high jewelry is newly reimagined by the experts at PICCHIOTTI through the lens of contemporary sophistication. This is modern high jewelry at its finest, intended to become future heirlooms. The family’s pursuit of excellence goes beyond the global search for premium gemstones and exceptional diamonds – meticulous craftsmanship and attention to every detail, no matter how small, makes these jewels true one-of-a-kind treasures. They elevate the everyday in a way that only high jewelry can.
